At Main Roads, our vision for reconciliation is to continue to drive positive relationships between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Australians and build a mutual respect and understanding with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders.
Main Roads has collaborated with North Metro TAFE to create a deadly supported Employment Pathway Program for Aboriginal students who are keen to start their journey to studying civil engineering and begin their career at Main Roads.
We are looking for motivated and committed Aboriginal students searching for a solid future in engineering. Main Roads invites you to be part of an organisation that is committed to your development and future career.
This is a Fixed Term position for a period of up to 12 months (with the possibility of extension or permanency).
About the Program
You will complete a Certificate III in Engineering – Technical, studying full time for semester 1 at North Metro TAFE and then part time for semester 2. During second semester you will also work part time at one of our Perth Main Roads offices. Not only will you complete your Certificate III but you will gain practical experience and build connections.
Main Roads will pay your tuition fees and provide you a fortnightly sustenance allowance during first semester to allow you to focus on and prioritise your studies. During second semester you will receive a pro-rata salary in addition to your tuition fees.
This is a one-year program that will provide a pathway for automatic entry into Main Roads Technical Traineeship program and the opportunity to work full time for Main Roads while you study a Diploma of Civil and Structural Engineering.
