The Delivery and Policy Division provides strategic leadership and coordination to ensure whole-of-government priorities are effectively delivered. It is structured under two key groups: Delivery Unit and Policy. Together, these functions enable DPC to provide independent, evidence-based advice and ensure alignment between government decision making and the delivery of the Government’s priorities.

The Community Safety Policy (CSP) Directorate is responsible for developing and coordinating policies that ensure safety, security and wellbeing for all Western Australians. The team works across a diverse portfolio to support and protect the community and strengthen resilience. This includes providing advice in portfolios such as justice, police, state security, emergency management, child protection and family and domestic violence. The State Security team within the CSP Directorate provides high level policy advice and support on matters of state and national security.

The Economic and Environment Policy (EEP) Directorate leads the development, coordination and delivery of strategic policy advice to the Premier and Cabinet across a broad range of portfolios that supports economic diversification and sustainable economic growth, environmental resilience and regional development. The Environment team within the EEP Directorate provides high level policy advice and support that relates to the Government’s priority to protect and restore the environment. 

The Office of Digital Government (DGov) is leading the digital transformation of the WA public sector to support agencies in improving service delivery to the community. The Digital Strategy and Governance Team leads the WA Government’s digital strategy and policy direction, including implementation of the Digital Strategy 2026-2030, and sits within the Digital Transformation and Strategy Unit, which provides whole-of-government leadership in digital transformation. 

 About the Role

The Level 4 Policy Officer will support the State Security team within the CSP Directorate by conducting research and analysis, engaging stakeholders and preparing high quality briefings. The role will contribute to the development, coordination, implementation and review of Government policies and initiatives, working closely with Senior Policy Officers and the Assistant Director.

The Level 4 Policy Officer will assist the Environment team within the EEP Directorate in research, analysis, stakeholder engagement and drafting of high-quality briefings to support the development, coordination, implementation and review of Government policies and initiatives.

The Level 4 Policy Officer will support the Digital Strategy and Governance team within DGov to deliver whole-of-government digital strategy, policy and governance priorities. Working closely with Principal and Senior Policy Officers, the role contributes to research, analysis, drafting and coordination; provides secretariat support for key ICT governance groups; assists with digital inclusion initiatives; and supports stakeholder engagement, events, communications and briefing materials.
