Help

These tips help you use the WA Government Jobs website.

Using the main search bar on the Home page, enter any word or words related to your desired job. Different agencies may describe similar jobs in different ways so try a range of search words.

The search lists jobs where any of your search words are in the:

  • job title
  • name of an agency advertising a job
  • region a job is advertised in
  • advertisement or job description.

You can change how the jobs are listed by clicking the ‘Sort by’ option on the top right of the search results page.

Narrow your search results by clicking on filter options on the left hand side of the search results page. The number in the red box next to each option is the number of jobs that match the option.

When selecting and unselecting filter options, your search results automatically update when using a desktop computer. On mobiles and most tablets, you need to manually apply the filters by clicking the ‘Apply filters’ button.

Salary filter – uses the minimum salary for each job rounded down to the nearest $10,000. To see jobs across a salary range, select each salary option in that range. For example, to search for jobs from $70,000 to $100,000, select ‘From $70,000’, ‘From $80,000’, ‘From $90,000’ and ‘From $100,000’.

Level filter – If a job is available at more than one level, it is linked to the ‘Multiple levels’ option. To see all jobs available at each level, select that level and ‘Multiple levels’. For example, to search for all jobs at Level 6, select ‘Level 6’ and ‘Multiple levels’.

To apply for a job, click "Apply Now" in the job advertisement.

You then leave the WA Government Jobs website and are directed to the application system used by the agency that has advertised the job.

If you need help with an application, contact the agency using the details in the job advertisement.

Your cookie preferences can be adjusted at the bottom of any page.

Registering for WA Government Jobs allows you to save and manage favourited jobs, create and manage job alerts, and manage devices.

You do not have to register to search for jobs on the website, apply for jobs or find a previous application.

To register:

  1. select Register at the top right of the website
  2. enter your details and click ‘Register’
  3. check your email for a verification code (this may take a few minutes) and follow the instructions.

If you do not receive an email with your verification code, check your junk or spam folder, check the email address you provided, or refresh the page and click submit again.

Note that filling out other forms such as job alerts and feedback also registers a profile if this is the first form you interact with.

Don’t miss out on your perfect job. Set up a job alert to receive emails daily, Monday to Friday, listing new jobs that match the options you select.

You can create job alerts from your profile page and at the bottom of all search result pages.

You can also create a job alert at the bottom of all job advert pages, automatically pre-filled using information from that job.

Favourited jobs let you save jobs you are interested in so you can return to them later. To favourite a job, view the job and click ‘Add to favourites’ below the job’s details.

To see your favourited jobs, visit your profile page or click ‘View favourites’ from any job advert.

If your saved alerts and favourited jobs are not appearing, make sure you have accepted all cookies and are signed in.

You can provide feedback using the link at the bottom of all pages.

For questions about a job, contact the person listed in the advert.

If you have a question about an existing application, use the support email provided by the advertising agency.
