The Opportunity

We are seeking a customer-focused and compassionate Memorial Sales Consultant to join the Metropolitan Cemeteries Board. In this role, you will work directly with families and clients to honour loved ones, guiding them through the selection of memorialisation products and services, including gravesites, cremation memorials, mausoleum crypts and commemorative options.

Combining strong relationship-building skills with a respectful and consultative sales approach, you will help deliver meaningful outcomes for clients during significant life moments while contributing to the MCB’s sales and customer service objectives.

As a compassionate Memorial Sales Consultant, you will take pride in delivering an exceptional, personalised experience for our clients and help create lasting tributes for those they have lost. This is a unique opportunity to combine empathy and sales expertise in a role that makes a meaningful difference.

Key responsibilities include;

  • Providing professional advice and guidance to clients on memorialisation options and finalising sales in a dignified and respectful manner.
  • Responding to and following up on customer enquiries, quotes, orders and sales opportunities across MCB products and services.
  • Preparing and processing quotes, invoices, contracts and related documentation accurately and efficiently.
  • Building positive relationships with clients and stakeholders while delivering exceptional customer service experiences.
  • Maintaining accurate customer records and contributing to the achievement of team sales targets and organisational objectives.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in a sales environment, with the ability to build trusted relationships and deliver positive customer outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage sensitively and respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, enabling you to effectively address customer needs and resolve issues.
  • Experience using customer information and feedback to identify improvements and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Willingness to travel and to work across multiple sites
