The Location
Northam is a town in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, situated at the confluence of the Avon and Mortlock Rivers. It is the largest town and regional centre in the Avon Valley region of the Central Wheatbelt. It is located approximately 97 kilometres (60 miles) north east of Perth, the capital city of Western Australia.
Nestled in the heart of the Avon Valley, Northam is known for its diverse collection of tourist and heritage attractions including hot-air ballooning, cultural experiences, historical buildings, wildflowers, horse-racing and nature trails.
The Opportunity
As a Team Leader Child Safety / Team Manager Child Safety, you will be working in the areas of child protection, children in care and family support, you will supervise team members in child protection case work matters and where necessary, oversees Case Workers in taking intervention action to promote the safety and wellbeing of children.
You will be reporting to the District Director on the activities of the team, managing team resources, assigning tasks and ensures equitable distribution of workload within the team, quality assuring the electronic reporting requirements of case workers in the team and ensuring the learning and development requirements of the team are maintained.
Additionally, you will contribute to the planning and management of District activities under the direction of the District Director, supervising and supporting team members and liaising with other team leaders and District/Departmental staff to ensure sound practice standards are maintained,

Qualification Requirements
You must have a Bachelors degree in Social Work, Psychology, or relevant human services area to be eligible for this position. All overseas qualifications must be assessed for Australian equivalency.
