This is a fixed term, full time vacancy available for twelve (12) months, with the possibility of extension for a further twelve (12) months and/or permanency, subject to business requirements.

About the role

The Office of the Commissioner for Victims of Crime (OCVoC) promotes and safeguards the interests of victims of crime in the Western Australia justice system and is responsible for the coordination and oversight of the Department’s response to victims of crime including policy and legislative reform and providing advice to government.

As a Principal Project Officer you will lead and deliver projects of strategic significance, primarily focused on reform activities associated with government’s response to family and domestic violence.

The successful applicant will be required to build and maintain strong strategic relationships with key stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

Suitability Requirements

Through the recruitment process, we will be looking for candidates who can demonstrate skills, experience and attributes in relation to the following:

1. Advanced project management skills and experience, involving ability to: coordinate a variety of projects of a sensitive, difficult and/or complex nature; prepare project plans; and manage resources including contracts and procurements documents and processes, to achieve outcomes.
2. Applies critical thinking techniques to develop a range of options.
3. Is able to identify and understand work area priorities and adjust as required.
4. Contemporary knowledge of the justice and/or FDV service system and issues that affect victims of crime.

Permanent, fixed term, full time and part time appointments may be offered at Perth Metropolitan area during this period.
