The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS) and the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation (JTSI) have come together to create an award-winning interagency graduate program.
About the program
Our 18-month graduate program aims to build the skills, experience and networks required for a successful career in the public sector. A customised rotational plan exposes graduates to a range of opportunities both internal and external to the department. The graduates support team, includes a sponsor, a mentor, a coordinator and fellow graduate buddies who will guide participants through the experience alongside a comprehensive learning and development program. The program concludes with the opportunity for a permanent position. Initial employment is on a fixed term contract with provision for permanent appointment following successful completion of the first twelve months of the program.

About the position
Do you have a systematic and enquiring mind? Are you looking to use your analytical, comprehension and problem solving skills in your career to undertake investigations and recommend outcomes?
The Private Sector Labour Relations Division is seeking a recent graduate with a Bachelor degree with a focus in industrial relations or employment relations, or an approved equivalent bachelor degree (bachelor degree to be completed in the current or preceding calendar year).
You will use your knowledge and skills to assist employers achieve compliance with WA employment laws. Where there are allegations of non-compliance by employers, you will facilitate conciliations or undertake compliance and investigation activities to form a view and recommend outcomes. You will also assist in targeted proactive programs, including field visits, to promote workplace rights and improve compliance by State system employers. You will have the opportunity to rotate across DMIRS during the program.
This position is located in Gordon Stephenson House at 140 William Street, Perth however, you may be required to work at other sites.
