The Information and Technology (IT) Directorate is responsible for information management and related information and communication technology (IT) to enable the Department to achieve its strategic, tactical and operational goals through digitalisation of business services and optimisation of IT systems.
About the Role
The Principal Systems Administrator leads the design, development and management of critical enterprise systems and applications. You’ll combine strong systems administration and architectural expertise with strategic thinking to deliver high-priority technology initiatives, influence technical direction and help shape a modern, reliable and secure IT environment.
We’re looking for strong systems administration expertise, architectural thinking and the initiative to deliver reliable, contemporary technology solutions through technical leadership on complex projects, and influence the organisation’s technology architecture and direction.
A successful candidate will demonstrate the following capabilities:
- Enterprise systems expertise across hybrid cloud environments, including Azure, AWS and Microsoft 365, with strong hands-on systems and network administration skills.
- Security and risk management capability, with experience protecting and integrating systems in complex enterprise environments.
- Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the initiative to investigate complex technical issues and deliver effective solutions independently.

Permanent appointment:
