The Department of Health is calling for registered Aboriginal Health Practitioners, or recent graduates from accredited training providers who are yet to register to apply.
The Aboriginal Health Practitioner is a new profession for the WA public health system. Health Service Providers are creating positions across a variety of clinical services.
We will be accepting all applications from within the WA Health and WACHS sector, as well private and community sector.
Successful applicants will be placed into a selection pool where the Health Service Providers will recruit from.
This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time and Fixed Term Part Time appointments, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
Position Profile: We are seeking dynamic candidates for the role of Aboriginal Health Practitioner (Level 1) and Senior Aboriginal Health Practitioner (Level 2) for appointment to various locations within WA Health.
The Aboriginal Health Practitioner works with health care teams to provide culturally safe, holistic person-centred clinical care, health education and promotion for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people within Western Australia as specified in the summary of duties including working within their scope of practice and considerate of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practice Board of Australia professional capabilities.
To be considered for this role, you must hold a Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice from an accredited Registered Training Organisation as a minimum requirement.
