There is currently one (1) fixed-term Senior Policy Officer position available for immediate filling for a period of 12 months, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.

The Aboriginal Engagement Directorate aims to elevate the Aboriginal Affairs portfolio and drive system change across Government, with an objective to improve the economic prosperity and wellbeing of Aboriginal people and communities in Western Australia. This includes providing timely and relevant policy advice and embedding strategic frameworks that facilitate a whole of government approach in engaging with Aboriginal people and communities.
About the Roles
We are seeking motivated and collaborative policy professionals to contribute to impactful, whole-of-government work that supports better outcomes for Western Australians, particularly in advancing priorities for Aboriginal communities and Closing the Gap.
Principal Policy Officer (Level 7)
As a Principal Policy Officer, you will play a leading role in shaping and delivering complex, whole-of-government policy initiatives. You will provide high-level, evidence-based advice, lead analysis of emerging issues, and drive the coordination and implementation of cross-portfolio priorities.
Working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, you will collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders across government and the community, including supporting key relationships such as the Aboriginal Advisory Council. This is an opportunity to influence strategic outcomes, lead projects to completion, and contribute to meaningful system change.
Senior Policy Officer (Level 6) – 12-month fixed term
As a Senior Policy Officer, you will contribute to the development and delivery of government priorities through high-quality research, analysis, and policy advice. You will support the implementation and review of initiatives from a cross-portfolio perspective, working closely with stakeholders to deliver practical and timely outcomes.
This role offers the opportunity to build your policy capability in a supportive, fast-moving environment, while contributing to projects that have real impact across government and the community.
