About the role
The Department of Justice operates a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) providing accredited training to adults in prison. The Education, Employment and Training Services works towards assisting students to acquire, develop, practice and apply the knowledge, skills and attitudes they need now and, in the future, to take responsible control of their own lives.

Eligibility
To be eligible for a Casual Teacher/Trainer and Assessor appointment you need to have the following:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Applicants who do not yet hold the above credentials are still eligible to apply, however the Department may require the recommended candidate to obtain qualification prior to appointment.
- Applicants with tertiary teaching qualifications are eligible to undertake specific teaching and assessing roles.

Pool Recruitment
This pool will be open for a period of 12 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Casual appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.
The Department of Justice uses recruitment pools to build a bank of talent for future opportunities. Applicants found suitable in this pool, may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies, with/within the Education, Employment and Transitional Services for the duration of the pool.
