Suitable applicants from this process will be placed in a pool from which temporary and/or permanent appointments may be made. The pool will operate for a period of 12 months from the date that the recruitment breach period has been finalised.

The Office of the Coordinator General

The Office of the Coordinator General supports Western Australia’s energy transition, decarbonisation and economic diversification objectives by activating strategic industrial land and facilitating major job-creating projects and precincts across the State.

Working across government, industry and community stakeholders, the Office plays a key role in accelerating delivery of complex industrial precincts and projects that strengthen Western Australia’s position as a global investment destination.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting time to join the Department of the Premier and Cabinet and the Office of the Coordinator General. The Office plays a central role in supporting delivery of the Government’s priorities through coordination of major projects and precincts that enable Western Australia’s energy transition, decarbonisation and economic diversification and through facilitating investment and activation of strategic industrial land across the State.

We are seeking motivated and capable professionals to join our dynamic teams supporting complex whole-of-government initiatives. In these roles, you will contribute to State-significant projects and provide high-quality research, analysis and coordination support to inform strategic decision-making and program delivery. You will apply your critical thinking, organisational capability and strong communication skills to support evidence-based policy and project outcomes, while working collaboratively with stakeholders across government, industry and the community to deliver positive outcomes for Western Australians.

We have multiple opportunities within the following areas:

Level 6 – Senior Project Officer (1 position)

Senior Project Officers provide high-level support to Project Managers and Directors through strategic analysis, stakeholder engagement and coordination of complex initiatives aligned with Government priorities.

The role contributes to development, implementation and evaluation of policies and projects, prepares high-quality briefings and advice, and supports negotiations and engagement across agencies and stakeholders.

Level 5 – Project Officer (3 positions)

Project Officers undertake research, analysis and coordination activities supporting delivery of strategic projects and initiatives aligned with Western Australia’s energy transition, infrastructure coordination and economic diversification priorities.

The role contributes to preparation of briefings and submissions, coordination of stakeholder engagement activities and implementation of project plans.

Permanent appointment:

  • To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia at the time of applying.

Fixed Term appointment:

  • To be eligible for fixed term appointment you must have a current visa that allows you to work for the required term and hours of the contract.
