Office of the Coordinator General

A number of exciting opportunities exist to join the newly established Office of the Coordinator General within the Department of the Premier and Cabinet.

These roles are ideal for someone wanting to be part of a bold new chapter for the Office of the Coordinator General. The roles work with the Coordinator General to better coordinate efforts and facilitate approval across Government for projects of State significance. The Coordinator General works to prevent and resolve delays to priority projects and is moving to Department of Premier and Cabinet as part of the Public Sector Reforms 2025 from 1 July 2025.

As a central agency, the Department plays a key leadership role across the public sector. We provide advice and support to the Premier, as head of the Western Australian Government, and to Cabinet in their service to the Community. The opportunities:

We are seeking expressions of interest for a variety of roles (Level 5-8) in the newly created Office of the Coordinator General.

There are up to nine (9) fixed term positions available for immediate start.

Initial appointments will be for a period of twelve (12) months via fixed term contract or secondment, with the possibility of extension.

We are looking for exceptional candidates with diverse experience and skill sets across the following areas:

  • Project management and program delivery
  • Strategic and operational policy development
  • Strategic and statutory planning (including master planning)
  • Infrastructure delivery
  • Legal
  • Systems thinking
  • Communications and stakeholder engagement

Eligibility 

To be eligible for appointment, applicants must be current public service officers appointed under Part 3 of the Public Sector Management Act 1994. If you are selected as a suitable candidate, you will be required to provide:

  • Proof of identity (100-point ID check - details will be provided after selection)
  • A Criminal Record Screening Check, dated within the last 3 months
  • Evidence of your rights to work in Australia for the duration of the opportunity
