About the Role

The ERA are seeking a motivated and driven Market Investigation Officer to support complex investigations into potential breaches of rules governing the Wholesale Electricity Market, to join our Market Investigations team.

In this role you will:

  • Apply microeconomic and competition policy principles to real world investigations to evaluate potential misconduct in energy markets.
  • Contribute to the preparation of internal briefing papers and external reports including investigation findings.
  • Contribute to research and analysis under guidance from senior investigators and principal investigators
  • Maintain strong and efficient record-keeping practices to ensure strict adherence to processes for documenting evidence.
  • Update and maintain strict investigation project management timelines, with support from the ERA’s project management team.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through coaching and mentoring by senior team members, as well as through participation in external training programs.

To be successful, you will have the ability to demonstrate excellent and accurate analytical, project management, administrative and record keeping support.
