The Opportunity
We are currently looking for a Strategic Transport Modeller to join our team.
In this role, you will support our senior modellers and bring your own skills to bear providing advice and services using our department's transport modelling and economic evaluation tools. Your duties will include assisting in the maintenance and development of our transport models, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the input data, and making improvements to the algorithms and macros in the models.
This position is part of our Urban Mobility directorate, which focuses on providing integrated transport strategy, policy, planning, and programs for connecting people in urban areas in a sustainable manner.
To be considered an ideal candidate, you should have well-developed communication skills, experience in transport and/or economic modelling, and knowledge of traffic engineering and/or transport planning. You should also possess sound analytical and research abilities and be willing to bring creativity, innovation, and critical thinking to our activities.
There is one (1) permanent, fulltime position available for immediate filling.
We need someone who can
- Showcase relevant experience in transport and/or economic modelling using relevant software.
- Analyse and interpret land use and transport scenarios.
- Gather, analyse, and maintain transport modelling data.
- Foster strong and productive working relationships and partnerships.
- Bring a can-do attitude to work and participate in continuous improvement activities with peers who value constructive discussions and sharing of ideas.
Successful applicants will be required to hold or obtain a current National Police Clearance.
