Are you looking for an opportunity to expand your knowledge and develop new skills?
If so, then this may be the opportunity for you.
The Department of Communities brings together the services and functions of disability services, child protection and family support, housing, community initiatives and regional services reform.
About Communities Legal Team
We have more than 100 people in our in-house Legal and Business Services unit. And as a large and dynamic department, much of our work is complex and urgent.
Our paralegal team is critical to the success of our legal practice. Team members bring with them a diverse range of legal experience across all areas of law, and are committed to providing high level, efficient, and effective support.
The Opportunity
Opportunities exist for entry level and experienced paralegals. For entry level roles, ideally you will be legally trained or completing your studies and will have some experience working within a legal practice or with the courts.
For experienced team members, you will have demonstrated experience providing high level paralegal support and assistance, with an aptitude for technical and detailed work and the ability to deal effectively with a high file load.
For both roles, you will also:
- work well under pressure, meet your deadlines, and excel working autonomously.
- have strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- take a collaborative, positive and energetic approach to everything you do.
The position is based in Perth, however travel to the regional areas of Western Australia may be required.
We currently have a number of fixed term and permanent opportunities available for immediate filling and are seeking to establish a pool of suitable applicants from which appointments will be made for this or similar future vacancies (fixed term or permanent) that arise within the next 12 months. Part time arrangements may also be considered.
The attached Job Description Form (JDF) provides more information about the position. For further information we encourage you to contact Amanda Jackson, Managing Legal Support Officer, on (08) 6277 4231.
