You will be working with the Division responsible for delivering the METRONET’s high value and high complex major transport projects. As one of the largest single investments in public transport the city has seen, METRONET will help positively change how people live and travel in Perth.

The Role

PTA is looking for a suitability qualified Senior Engineer Operational Technology professional to join its newly created division - Operational Systems and Technology (OS&T). As a strategic partner to the broader PTA, the division aims to maximise the benefit for the business through the strategic management of information, data and enterprise applications. 

In this role, you will be responsible for providing engineering design, development, modification and monitoring services for operational technology and other infrastructure asset management systems, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards.

About you

To be successful in the role, you will need to have:

  • Possession of an appropriate Engineering Degree that would satisfy the admission requirement for corporate membership to the Institution of Engineers Australia OR an appropriate Engineering Diploma qualification and extensive relevant railway engineering experience.
  • Detailed knowledge and recent experience in the design, commissioning and fault finding of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) installations and SCADA systems.
  • Well-developed leadership and management skills, including the ability to empower individuals and to provide support that enables the organisation to succeed.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in contract and resource management, and demonstrated experience in applying asset management frameworks, standards and/or codes of practices

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool for 12 months from which permanent and fixed term appointments will be made.  

There is currently one fixed term vacancy valid 30/06/2025.
