The Role

The Transperth Train Operations Division at the PTA is seeking to appoint an experienced Project Engineer to provide technical support and assistance with respect to the acquisition, design, manufacturing, commissioning and maintenance of the PTA’s rollingstock. The role will assist in the development of the PTA’s new rollingstock assets to ensure safety, quality and reliability targets are met.

The successful applicant will also assist in the management of contracts including the development of documents and specifications, evaluation of tenders and contract administration. Your ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with wide range of stakeholders and to analyse and resolve complex problems is crucial to your success in this role.

About you

To be successful in this position, you will have proven experience in design, manufacturing, modification, testing and maintenance of passenger rollingstock, good knowledge of rollingstock engineering practices and an ability to manage multiple tasks in a high intensity environment. A relevant Degree or Diploma in Engineering (preferably in mechanical or electrical engineering) with eligibility for Professional Membership or recognition by the Institute of Engineers Australia is essential.

There is currently one (1) full time fixed term position available until 30 June 2024 with the possibility of further extension(s) and/or permanency. Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to appoint to similar positions that may arise in the Agency within the next twelve (12) months.
