The position
The Licensing Services Directorate is seeking a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Business, or an approved equivalent bachelor degree, with a business improvement focus (bachelor degree to be completed in the current or preceding calendar year).
The Licencing Services Directorate, as part of the Service Delivery Group, is responsible for receiving, assessing and determining a wide range of consumer protection, dangerous goods, building and energy licences, registrations, lodgements and applications. The Directorate plays a significant role in protecting Western Australians by ensuring those that are authorised to carry out business, trade or operate in industries regulated by the department are suitably qualified, skilled and responsible.
Contributing knowledge and skill in business process improvement you will work with teams delivering a wide range of licensing services. You will use your technical skill and creativity to review and improve business processes, documentation and training systems. You will also contribute to the design and implementation of computerised licence application and assessment systems and support the development and delivery of online services.

Initial employment is on a fixed term contract with provision for permanent appointment following successful completion of the first twelve months. At the end of the program, you will return to a position in the Licencing Services Directorate.

- A copy of your academic record and evidence of your Bachelor of Business, or an approved equivalent bachelor degree, with a business improvement focus (completed in the current or preceding calendar year).
- Your CV including the names and contact details of two referees.
- A cover letter (maximum three pages) which outlines the following:
- Why you are interested in working at the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety and how it fits with your career aspirations; and
- A description of your role in a project (university assignment is ok) that you have undertaken or participated in that demonstrates your research and communication skills.
Please note that completion of a National Police Clearance will form part of the selection process.
