This is a pool recruitment process (Ref 00225) will run for a period of 12 months. This process may be used to fill ongoing fixed term contracts, secondments, acting/relieving and permanent opportunities (full and part time).
There are currently two (2) positions available with the possibility of additional permanent and temporary opportunities.
POSITION OBJECTIVE
The senior intelligence analyst leads and supervises intelligence teams to ensure they produce high quality intelligence products for strategic, operational and tactical (live) intelligence purposes.
The position while predominately metropolitan based will be required to deploy to regional locations in order to lead and manage the development of intelligence products. The position will be predominately Mon- Fri day shift however may be required to work some shift work and reasonable overtime when operational requirements arise.
SPECIALIST PRE-REQUISITE
- It is a requirement that the position holder is successful in obtaining and maintaining a NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 2 security clearance for the duration of their appointment in the position. Only Australian Citizens are eligible to hold and maintain the NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 2 security clearance. Any applicants who are currently not an Australian Citizen must be aware that this is an essential requirement to fulfil this position (please refer to the attached position description). Whilst there is nothing to preclude applicants from applying for the position if they have not yet been granted Australian Citizenship, applicants who are successful should be aware that they cannot be appointed unless they have been granted Australian Citizenship prior to the completion of the selection process.

SPECIALIST ESSENTIAL
- Job holder must undertake and successfully complete the Intelligence analysis course and other courses deemed appropriate by the Intelligence Portfolio.

Please note: Applicants must take into consideration their ability to satisfy the requirements and context of the attached ‘Capability Profile’ (WA Police Capability Profile – Level 6) when addressing the above work related requirements.
Applicants are also required to submit a Curriculum Vitae (CV). Your CV (maximum of 5 pages) should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills, experience and qualifications relevant to the Accountabilities/Duties of the attached Position Description Form.
The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant’s ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements.
Applicants who are short-listed beyond the application stage will be required to participate in a workplace scenario assessment followed by an interview. In addition to formal questions relating to the work related requirements, applicants will be given an opportunity to discuss their analytical approach to the workplace scenario in greater detail with the panel.
Please note: For applicants deemed suitable, all Essential Work Related Requirements listed in the Position Description Form will be assessed at some stage during the selection process.
OTHER CONDITIONS
In addition to these two (2) vacancies, a POOL is being created to fill future vacancies that may arise within the division. This POOL will remain active for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial appointment. Applicants who are assessed as ‘suitable’ at the completion of this process, will be placed in the POOL and may be considered for future permanent and temporary vacancies as they become available.
Once an applicant within the POOL accepts a permanent vacancy offer within the division, that applicant will be removed from the POOL. Applicants who accept a temporary vacancy will remain in the POOL.
Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted if the recommended applicant for this position is not a current WA Police employee. Any relocation costs associated with appointment to this position may be the responsibility of the successful applicant.
