Main Roads created the Network Operations Directorate to optimise the performance of the existing road network to facilitate the movement of people and freight safely, reliably, and efficiently throughout Western Australia.
The Network Operations Directorate is based at the Road Network Operations Centre (RNOC) in Perth’s CBD. The RNOC is a purpose-built, world-class facility designed to help manage congestion and improve road network safety and performance in a collaborative environment through real-time situational awareness tools that enables the RNOC to respond to traffic incidents and events across the State.

About the Role
Main Roads Western Australia is growing rapidly due to technological advancements and their impact on the transport landscape. This growth is creating new challenges and opportunities within the organisation.
An exciting opportunity to join Main Roads at RNOC has become available. As an integral part of the Network Operations Directorate, the Congestion Management Services team is responsible for the assessment, development and delivery of targeted programs and projects that improve the safe mobility of people and the efficiency of freight in metropolitan Perth.
The Congestion Management Services Manager will manage the development, prioritisation and delivery of congestion management services, including project and program ownership, supply chain management, funding, execution, assessment and communication of benefits.
About You
You will be a result-driven and collaborative individual with proven team and stakeholder management skills to lead a team focused on reducing congestion and improving the movement of people and freight.
You will also have a strong technical background and experience in program, project and people management to achieve the best project outcomes, contributing to the organisation’s vision and direction through technical and strategic leadership in congestion management services.
To be successful in this role, some of the skills you will demonstrate include:
Relevant Project & Program Management: provide subject matter expertise for the development of appropriate strategies, programs and projects to manage congestion and improve the movement of people and freight.
Leadership and Management: manage the team to develop and implement best practices in program/project management and governance including the management of financial, technological, physical and other resources.
Stakeholder Relationships: build, enhance and support collaborative working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

- A statement outlining your comprehensive skill, knowledge and experience in the following three (3) criteria in no more than three (3) pages:
- Program and project management involving the design and execution of programs/projects for improving traffic congestion in a large city with a complex road network.
- Translating technical data analysis into compelling business cases for programs and projects.
- Managing financial, technological, physical and other resources within agreed allocations to meet agreed outcomes.
- A copy of your WA C Class driver’s licence.
