Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. Both of these options remain valid for a period of six (6) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.

Position Profile: We are seeking to appoint a suitably experienced candidate for the position of Consultant Psychiatrist. This position provides psychiatric assessment treatment and management of children and adolescents (0-18 years), including their families and carers utilising audio visual and/ or face to face modalities. Work closely with the Regional Directors, Regional Managers and Child and Adolescent Mental Health team leaders in providing consultation and clinical advice to multidisciplinary teams.

Each region within WACHS has its own unique characteristics, and therefore Mental Health services differ strategically and operationally. Due to the uniqueness and geographic size of WA, utilization of tele-Mental Health technology is an integral part of WACHS Mental Health. A focus for WACHS’ Mental Health services is to provide services to people who face specific rural and sociocultural challenges that may compound disadvantage. WACHS Mental Health Community Services are supported by four acute patient units across Country WA which vary in size and service provision.
