Heavy Vehicle Access Improvement and Policy Manager

We are currently seeking a Heavy Vehicle Access Improvement and Policy Manager to be based at our Redcliffe Office, who is knowledgeable in effectively managing and providing specialist advice on access improvement programs relating to solutions for Restricted Access Vehicles (RAV) to the State’s road network.
About the Role
This is a newly created position that reports to the Access Manager, with direct management of two staff within the Heavy Vehicle Services Branch, whilst working closely within a professional and diverse 14-person team. You will be proactive in the provision of technical advice to ensure appropriate RAV access is given to major road network projects and road network expansions, to achieve alignment with Branch deliverables.
An overarching objective of this role is to manage the WA Performance Based Standards (PBS) Scheme and developing and refining access policy and improvement schemes, including the effective operational management of incident reporting and vehicle monitoring.
About You
Drawing on your supervisory and technical assessment skills, you will be able to provide effective leadership to the Section. It is essential that you have expertise in Interpreting and applying legislations, standards, policies and practices relating to RAV, to enable you to successfully deliver access solutions.
Your ability to develop positive, professional relationships will be well utilised when engaging with a range of transport operators and industry bodies, as well as other internal and external stakeholders. Your interpersonal communication capabilities are essential in order to manage performance, as well as the resolution of issues relating to RAV road network access.
