The WACHS Nursing & Midwifery TRAVEL Program (Transition to Rural - AdVEnture & Lifestyle) is open to 2nd Year and above Registered Nurses and Midwives.
This pool is to recruit Registered Nurses for the March 2018 program intake (see alternative pool advertisement for Midwife applications).

Eligibility to Apply: International sponsorship is not available for these positions. To be eligible for appointment applicants must have an entitlement to work in Australia for the period of the program (Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, New Zealand citizen who entered Australia on a current New Zealand passport and was granted a visa with work entitlements on arrival, non-Australian citizen holding a valid visa with work entitlements).
Current WA Health Employees must get permission from their supervisor prior to applying if they intend to request secondment/temporary deployment to undertake the program.

Position Profile: WA Country Health Service (WACHS) has a unique and challenging opportunity for Registered Nurses who have a minimum of 12 months recent acute care experience. The TRAVEL program is unique to WACHS and gives applicants the opportunity to travel and experience rural and remote Western Australia while broadening their nursing experience.
There is the opportunity to obtain experience in a variety of areas which may include medical, surgical, aged care, remote health, emergency, palliative care, paediatrics and mental health; depending upon location placed. Participants will undertake 3 rotations during the 12 months, with travel costs and accommodation (charge payable) arranged for successful applicants.
To be successful in this program as a Registered Nurse you will require recent nursing practice within an acute care setting. Emergency Department & triage experience, whilst not essential, will be highly regarded. Your resilience and desire for new opportunities and experiences will see you make the most of this program while the broad range of nursing skills you will put into practice will set you apart from your peers.
