The Public Transport Authority (PTA) of Western Australia forms part of the transport portfolio. It owns and operates a multi-billion dollar asset base covering rail, bus and ferry infrastructure and services. Western Australia’s public transport system is recognised as the best in Australia and one of the best in the world.
We have a number of opportunities available for motivated and enthusiastic students who would like to gain work experience, working alongside the people responsible for delivering our world class public transport system.
Our Vacation Student Program is a twelve-week program due to commence on Monday 27 November 2017 and finish on Friday 23 February 2018. Students will be assigned a workplace supervisor and will complete meaningful work during their stay enabling them to make an active contribution to the PTA.
The PTA is currently looking for students to work in the following areas:
- Student Rail Engineer – Civil (N&I - Track & Structures)
- Student Rail Engineer – Civil (IP&LS - Rail Engineering)
- Student Rail Engineer – Electrical (N&I - Signals)
- Student Rail Engineer – Electrical (N&I - Communications)
- Student Rail Engineer – Electrical (N&I – Electrical Engineering)
- Student – Environment (IP&LS - Environmental Services)
- Student – IT (N&I - Programs and Projects)

Please note: Preference will be given to students currently in their penultimate year of study.
