The Regulatory Reform team is responsible for overseeing the policy development and implementation of reforms across the local government, liquor and gambling sectors in line with government priorities and commitments. This includes extensive community, industry and government stakeholder consultation and engagement.
About the role

We have an exciting career opportunity as a General Manager Cross-Sector Triage and Concierge within our newly established Cross-Sector Triage and Concierge Team.
Streamline WA is an inter-agency WA Government project, designed to reduce red tape and provide a streamlined interface for WA businesses engaging with the WA State Government. The Cross-Sector Triage and Concierge Team is being established within Regulatory Reform to roll out the Streamline WA approach within DLGSC, and to assist in the streamlining and improvement of licensing and other services provided by the agency.
In this role you will lead the development and delivery of DLGSC’s Cross-Sector Triage model and concierge service ensuring streamlined regulatory approval processes across various portfolios. You will oversee a team dedicated to providing a customer-centric service, ensuring timely updates and advice on assessments and approvals.
The key responsibilities include:
- Leadership and Team Management
- Build, lead, and manage a dedicated team focused on providing timely updates and advice on regulatory assessments and approvals.
- Enhance transparency and visibility of project statuses while improving assessment processes and approval pathways.
- Strategic Advice and Policy Development
- Offer strategic guidance on policy direction, government priorities, and regulatory streamlining.
- Develop and implement initiatives to optimize efficiency and effectiveness in assessment and approval processes.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Foster a culture of communication, collaboration, and customer service within your team.
- Utilize your advanced relationship management skills to consult, influence, and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders to achieve sustainable outcomes.
- Internal and External Coordination
- Oversee internal reporting requirements and collaborate with the Office of Coordinator General (JTSI) to support collaborative reporting and communication systems.
- Maintain and analyse data on assessment timeliness and gather proponent feedback for continuous improvement.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven leadership abilities with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with experience in policy development and regulatory processes
- Exceptional communication and relationship management skills, capable of influencing and negotiating with various stakeholders.
- Experience in coordinating internal reporting and managing data related to assessment processes.
We have one, full-time fixed term position available until 30 June 2028 (with the possibility of extension and/or permanency).
