About the opportunity
Help shape how Western Australia prepares for drought
DPIRD is building a dedicated team within its Climate Resilience Program to deliver a suite of nationally significant drought resilience initiatives under the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund (FDF) Program, in partnership with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF).
These programs sit at the intersection of agriculture, climate adaptation, and regional development, supporting farmers, industries and communities to anticipate and respond to a changing climate. This is an opportunity to be part of a connected, purpose-driven team working across government, industry and regional Western Australia (WA) to deliver real, lasting impact.
We are recruiting across multiple levels to support delivery of two major program streams:
Regional Drought Resilience Planning (RDRP)
Involves working with regional partnerships to:
- Develop locally-led drought resilience plans
- Identify priorities and actions to prepare for future drought conditions
Farm Business Resilience (FBR)
Involves supporting farmers and land managers to:
- Strengthen business capability
- Improve decision-making and risk management
- Build long-term resilience to climate variability
While the roles differ in scope, all contribute to a shared goal: Building stronger, more resilient regional communities across WA.
We have the following fixed term, full time roles (part time may be considered) available for immediate filling with the possibility of extension and/or permanency:
- One (1) Level 7 Program Manager – until 31 December 2029
