THE OPPORTUNITY
There are currently
- Nine (9) temporary Level 3 Community Education Officers available for immediate appointment for 12 months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency and
- Four (4) temporary Level 5 Community Education and Engagement Officers available for immediate appointment for 12 months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.
- Three (3) permanent Level 5 Community Education and Engagement Officers available for immediate appointment.
The Road Safety Commission is seeking enthusiastic and collaborative individuals to join our expanding Education and Behaviour Change team to deliver interactive and inspiring Road Smart Kickstart and Road Smart Interactive programs to high school students across Western Australia.
As part of the team, you’ll play a key role in delivering community road safety education initiatives that are engaging, relatable and memorable for young people. You’ll also develop relationships to support the promotion of the program and liaise with government agencies, local authorities, schools, community organisations, and key stakeholders.

THE ROLE
Working within a dynamic team, through strategic planning, program development, and evaluation, you will work to present innovative, technology-driven learning experiences to years 7- 9 students across Western Australian high schools to help shape and influence future generations by empowering young people with the knowledge and skills to make safer decisions on the road.
No two days are the same, this role/s requires regular regional travel, including driving vans to remote and regional locations and staying overnight when required.
The role also involves manual handling, including setting up, packing down equipment, and managing a significant amount of technology used in program delivery.

- Employer contribution of 12% superannuation in addition to your salary.
- 20 days of annual leave (pro rata for part time).

- 15 days personal leave each year (pro rata for part time).
- 3 days public service holiday.
- 14 weeks paid parental leave after 12 months of continuous service.

- A covering letter (2 pages maximum) addressing whether you are applying for the Community Education Officer (Level 3), the Community Education and Engagement Officer (Level 5) or both. Within the covering letter applicants are required to address Project and Communication Skills with a link to education initiatives that are engaging, relatable and memorable for young people.
