
We are seeking to establish a pool of Library and Administration Support Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Weld Square Primary School (PS) is a school that pursues academic excellence and offers a recognised best practice pastoral care program to all of its students. The school, with its well-established gardens is surrounded by native bushlands and parklands, is located in the suburb of Morley; 10 km north east of Perth.
For many of the school population of 150 students, English is their second language. These children come from many different countries including Bosnia, Vietnam, China, Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Bhutan, Sudan, Nepal, Macedonia, Lebanon and Greece. The Role
The Library and Administration Support Officer’s primary role is to provide general administrative support to the front office including preparing correspondence, newsletters, notices and maintaining databases or websites. In addition, you would ideally assist in booking equipment and facilities whilst distributing and collecting documents, forms, and mail. Part of the role may include providing support to student-related activities such as maintaining student attendance records, generating routine reports, and correspondence related to absenteeism and assisting with student enrolment procedures.
Suitable applicants would also be responsible for maintaining our school library, ensuring it is a learning hub that inspires our students to develop a passion for reading. Ideally, suitable applicants should create a library that is a centre for investigation and exploration, as well as a welcoming, safe and inclusive space for students. The role may include administering library systems, maintaining accurate records through cataloguing, archiving, and updating descriptor notes. The position provides a customer-focused service, offering guidance on library systems, equipment, and reference materials to support the community.
Suitable applicants should ideally be collaborative team members with good attention to detail and ability to consistently meet deadlines. Ideally, suitable applicants would have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work in collaboration with administration team, school support staff, our school community, and teaching staff.
