About the role
We are seeking exceptional leaders to drive the planning, delivery and oversight of major infrastructure initiatives that support vibrant cultural, arts, sporting and recreation communities across Western Australia!
As a Planning Director, you will provide high-level leadership and oversight to ensure infrastructure initiatives are well-conceived, feasible, and aligned with the Department’s strategic objectives. You will play a critical role in translating ideas into robust, evidence-based proposals—ensuring projects are thoroughly planned and positioned for successful delivery. Leading a team of skilled professionals, you will drive the planning phase of major infrastructure projects, developing business cases, evaluating feasibility, and ensuring all planning activities support informed Government investment decisions. Your ability to balance strategic vision with practical insight will be key to delivering infrastructure that meets the evolving needs of Western Australian communities. You will also work closely with stakeholders across government and industry, fostering strong partnerships that enhance project outcomes and ensure alignment with broader policy and investment priorities.
Our Project Directors oversee multiple projects from planning through to delivery, ensuring they are well-designed, effectively managed, and successfully executed. You will lead and coordinate resources across projects, driving performance, accountability, and high-quality outcomes at every stage. Your ability to balance strategic oversight with operational excellence will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You will also play a critical role in managing risks, resolving challenges, and maintaining strong governance practices across all project activities
As a Portfolio Director, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight across a diverse portfolio of major and capital works, while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of project delivery. You will play a key role in shaping and strengthening partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration that underpins successful outcomes. You’ll champion strong governance practices, embedding robust frameworks that ensure consistency, accountability, and compliance across all projects. With responsibility for budget oversight, risk management, and performance monitoring, you will ensure projects are delivered efficiently, sustainably, and in line with the Department’s priorities.

Location
This role is based at 246 Vincent Street, Leederville (travel to other locations may be required from time to time).
