About The Role:
The Solution Architect is responsible for the end-to-end development of information, communications and technology solutions and mapping the business requirements to technical requirements to ensure they align with the enterprise architecture, technology roadmap, principles, policies and standards.
The role develops the overall vision that underlies the proposed solution and transforms that vision through execution into the desired business outcome, within the context of the strategic direction of the Department. The position also provides systems architecture oversight and assurance services, for projects and strategic change, and undertakes and coordinates complex research into new technologies and services to determine the impact on and opportunity for the Department’s operations.
About You:
You are an experienced Solution Architect with strong technical skills and the ability to investigate, analyse, define and document application, integration, and infrastructure architecture. You can select and tailor those artefacts to support different levels of detail, and different customers.
This position operates in the context of Leading Others. This means that you will motivate and enable others to deliver high quality work. You will balance time between doing the work and coaching, guiding and developing others. This requires a significant shift in thinking from ‘doing’ to supporting others to ‘do good work’; and consideration of present and future needs when allocating time to the team and projects you lead. You will articulate how work is to be done, providing clear direction and feedback.
