The Opportunity
Integrated Therapy Services is a multidisciplinary, specialist service designed to promote the health and wellbeing of young children with a history of developmental trauma experiences. The service provides coordinated, evidence-based prevention, early detection and early intervention services to support children’s recovery and development.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing infant mental health services for young children living in out-of-home care. This is primarily an assessment role. You will have the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary allied health team and collaborate with other practitioners to assess the mental health and early developmental needs of infants in out of home care aged 0-4 years. You will assist with the coordination of services for the infant, to support their ongoing development and school readiness. You will also provide consultation for Department staff and facilitate psychoeducational groups with caregivers to support trauma-informed caregiving of children.

Advanced knowledge of complex developmental trauma and experience in infant mental health are highly desirable for this role. Additional skills and attributes that will be valuable include commitment to evidence-based practice and the development of professional skills and knowledge; the ability to contribute to ongoing service development; effective collaboration with other professionals; and well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.

In this role you will be supported through supervision, professional development opportunities, and collegial support.

As a Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychologist you will perform within the framework of the Psychology Board of Australia Code of Conduct for Psychologists using clinical expertise.

Psychologist Operational Officer Qualified 3: A 2-year post graduate masters degree in Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychology or approved equivalent and registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with endorsement in clinical, counselling or forensic psychology.
