Senior Learning and Development Consultant

The Department of Communities brings together the services and functions of disability services, child protection and family support, community initiatives and regional services reform.

The Opportunity

There are currently two positions available in the Family and Foster Care Learning Team for immediate filling as follows.

  • One full time permanent position
  • One part time permanent position at 45 hours per fortnight (with the opportunity to be full time).

The Family and Foster Care Learning Team deliver learning programs to family and foster carers, as well as child safety staff within the Department of Communities and the out-of-home care sector. Our team is committed to designing and delivering highly engaging learning opportunities that are trauma-informed and culturally and relationally safe. These programs aim to support carers and staff with the knowledge and skills to care effectively for children and young people in out of home care.

Please note: Some out-of-hours training and regional travel may be required.

As a Senior Learning and Development Consultant, you will provide a valued service for Department staff, Community Services Partner Agencies and Carers.

In this role applicants will need to demonstrate:

  • Experience in trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice, including a strong understanding of developmental trauma, child development, and strategies to support family and foster carers in creating safe, nurturing environments for the children in their care.
