We are establishing a 12 month extended pool for Lecturers for the Collie Transition Training Centre, for permanent, fixed term, full time, part time or casual appointments, with the possibility of a further term and/or permanency.

We’re looking for enthusiastic and motivated lecturers with a range of industry backgrounds to support training delivery and pass on their skills and experience to the next generation.

Who We’re Looking For
You’ll bring qualifications and/or extensive industry experience in one or more of the following areas:

Qualifications

  • Certificate III and IV in Laboratory Techniques
  • Certificate II in Sampling and Measurement
  • Certificate II and III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management
  • Certificate III in Demolition
  • Certificate II or III in Civil Construction
  • Certificate III in Building and Construction

High Risk licences. Licenced WorkSafe Assessor an advantage.

  • Forklift*
  • Elevated Work Platform *
  • Rigging (Basic)*
  • Dogging *
  • Scaffolding (Basic)*
  • (*denotes a High Risk Licence) 

Skill Sets

  • Confined Spaces
  • Work at Heights
  • Gas Test Atmospheres
  • Excavator
  • Side by Side
  • Skid Steer
  • White Card
  • Test and Tag
  • Operate and Maintain Chainsaws
  • Trim and Cut Felled Trees
  • Backpack/Handheld Spraying – background in Agricultural chemical handling and application

About the Role
As a Lecturer, you’ll teach, mentor, and support students as they build practical skills for real world jobs. You’ll deliver engaging, hands‑on training, assess student progress, and stay connected to industry through ongoing professional development, keeping your teaching current, relevant, and practical.

What You’ll Need

  • A relevant vocational qualification (or equivalent)
  • At least five years’ industry experience

To deliver accredited VET, you’ll also meet the minimum requirements under the Registration Standards 2025, holding a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116, or TAE40110), or a secondary teaching qualification with an Assessor Skill Set (TAESS00011, TAESS00019, or TAESS00024).

If you don’t yet hold this qualification, you’re still encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will be supported to commence and complete an approved training and assessment qualification within two years of appointment.

Eligibility for employment is subject to obtaining a satisfactory Department of Education Criminal Clearance and, where required, a valid Working with Children (WWC) Card.

To be eligible for appointment applicants must have a working visa (for fixed term contract appointments) or permanent residency (for permanent appointments).

SR TAFE has a shutdown period of up to 12 working days over Christmas/New Year. Arrangements for paid leave in advance or leave without pay during the shutdown period will be negotiated.
