The Role

As the Manager Mineral Systems, you will lead the Mineral Systems team and be responsible for providing scientific and strategic leadership in the planning and execution of mineral systems and mineralisation studies, leading project-based geoscientific studies related to the Western Australian’s mineralisation and mineral systems, providing strategic geoscientific planning advice to the Department and relevant stakeholders, undertaking advanced, multi-disciplinary, muti-scale geoscientific studies, playing a leading role in communicating and translating geoscientific results, and participating in the review of Geological Survey Division products.

Your strategic leadership skills and project planning skills as well as your experience in conducting advanced multi-disciplinary, multi-scale geoscientific studies, particularly those related to mineral systems will be key to your success in this role.

While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies (permanent, fixed-term, full-time or part-time) within the department for the next 12 months, from the date that the recruitment breach period has been finalised.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a permanent appointment, applicants must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia at the time of application. Applicants with a valid visa to work and live in Australia for a specific duration may be assessed and considered suitable for similar fixed term vacancies that arise.

Should a qualification be required for this position, applicants must provide their certification and/or academic transcripts to verify relevance to the job requirements. Qualifications obtained outside of Australia must be provided with an assessment from the Overseas Qualifications Unit to ensure they meet Australian Standards (this is a free service).

To work for DMPE, you must consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a clearance before you start. If deemed suitable, DMPE will coordinate and pay for your NCCHC as part of your pre-employment checks.
