ChemCentre is Western Australia’s leading provider of chemistry and forensic science services. We provide a comprehensive range of scientific services, working with a wide range of clients including Government Agencies, universities, industry and the general public. Through the provision of chemical information, advice and analytical services ChemCentre mitigates risk to government, protects the community and the environment and supports sustainable development.

The Scientific Services Division provides services including complex chemical analyses, problem solving and investigative and collaborative research projects. These activities involve the environment, public and occupational health, emergency response, state based industries and State development. The Division also provides an analytical and consultative service to Government Departments and commercial agencies involved in health administration, agriculture and highly specialised analytical and advisory services.

About the role 
The Client Liaison Officer plays a key role in delivering responsive, professional client engagement for the Scientific Services Division at ChemCentre. ChemCentre is seeking an experienced and motivated individual with strong customer skills excited by the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to supporting Divisional performance through efficient service.

Reporting to the Director SSD and Managers, you will proactively build, maintain and strengthen effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. You will be able to translate client requirements into commercially and technically viable outcomes that aligns with ChemCentre laboratory capabilities.

The successful applicant will possess highly developed communication and interpersonal skills enabling to build professional credibility and influence positive outcomes, foster collaboration, and promote ChemCentre as the laboratory of choice for both routine and non-routine fee-for-service chemical analyses. In addition, you will develop and implement marketing and communication materials tailored to a scientific or technical services environment to support improved business outcomes for the SSD.

This is a permanent full-time position.

Suitable applicants may be considered for like positions within 12 months from the date of finalisation of the selection process.

The position is located in Building 500, Resources and Chemistry Precinct, Manning Road, Bentley.

Eligibility 
To be eligible for a permanent position, Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is essential.

ChemCentre does not currently participate in employer visa sponsorship arrangements.

Upon appointment, applicants will be required to provide a National Police Clearance and pass a Fit for Work test (completed prior to commencement).

Essential Criteria 2: Demonstrated ability to proactively build and sustain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, with proven experience translating client requirements into commercially and technically viable outcomes.

Essential Criteria 3: Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including consultation and facilitation with the ability to influence outcomes.

Essential Criteria 5: Well-developed digital and information management skills, including effective use to support quoting, reporting, and client engagement.

The remaining Work related criteria (selection criteria) will be assessed at a later stage of the recruitment and selection process.
