About the role
The Information Management and Privacy Officer is pivotal in supporting ChemCentre’s information governance, recordkeeping and privacy obligations. Reporting to the Manager Human Resources and Information Services, the role provides practical advice, training and support to staff on document and records management systems, while contributing to compliance with the State Records Act 2000, Freedom of Information Act 1992 and Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing (PRIS) Act 2024.
The position undertakes reviews and audits of recordkeeping systems, develops and maintains information management policies and procedures, coordinates Freedom of Information responses, and supports the Privacy Officer by administering privacy safeguards and information sharing requests.
We are seeking a collaborative and proactive professional with sound experience in information and records management, a working understanding of privacy and information sharing requirements, and the ability to translate legislative obligations into clear, practical advice.
Strong communication skills and an ability to work constructively with stakeholders across the organisation are essential, along with a genuine alignment to ChemCentre’s values of Technical Excellence, Innovation, Integrity and Respect.

This position is a permanent part-time (up to 0.8 FTE).

The position is located in Building 500, Resources and Chemistry Precinct, Manning Road, Bentley.
Eligibility
To be eligible for a permanent position, Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is essential.

Prior to commencing employment, a National Police Clearance and Fitness for Work (alcohol and drug testing) will be required for a successful applicant.

- Ability to develop, implement and evaluate policy and procedures which comply with records and information management legislative requirements, principles and practices.
- Ability to provide advice and guidance on privacy safeguards, information sharing, and governance processes to staff at all levels.
- Well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
