Financial Audit: Where curiosity meets accountability.

Near the end of your degree, or recently graduated in accounting or finance? This program is for you!

As a Graduate Financial Auditor, you’ll learn how to be professionally nosy — asking the right questions, examining how public sector organisations manage their finances, testing controls and understanding the risks that matter.

Commencing in February 2027, our 12-month Graduate Program is designed to kickstart your career in the public sector, offering hands‑on experience across State and local government, the opportunity to work alongside experienced auditors, and ongoing development to support your career beyond your graduate year.

There are up to 12 positions available for our 2027 Financial Audit Graduate Program.

About us

The Office of the Auditor General (OAG) is WA’s independent auditor of public sector finances and performance. Our purpose is to build transparency, trust, and accountability, ensuring public services work effectively for the people of Western Australia.

Our Financial Audit business unit is a team of over 100 staff and we’re looking to grow. Each year, we take on over 300 audits across public sector entities – from State and local government agencies to universities and TAFEs.
