About the Division
The Business Services Division delivers a comprehensive suite of corporate support functions that enable the agency to operate effectively and responsibly. Bringing together expertise in finance, ICT, facilities management, data and analytics, professional standards, and emergency support, the division provides the essential systems, governance, and operational backbone that underpin service delivery. Through responsive, reliable, and strategic support, Business Services ensures the agency remains accountable, resilient, and equipped to meet current and emerging demands.
The Role
The Chief Technology Officer reports to the Chief Information Officer and is responsible for leadership and management of the delivery of Communities information and technology systems and ensuring alignment with the Western Australian government and Communities strategies, policies and standards. The position provides strategic management and advice regarding information systems and technology, both corporate and business related, and leads the applications and infrastructure functions within Information Services, for the Department.
The role engages and consults with senior management and stakeholders to promote an understanding and application of contemporary and emerging practices in using technology across the Department to provide integrated online services and technical solutions to meet their needs and expectations.
The role is a key change leader within the Business Services division and works collaboratively within the division and with other divisions to support Communities’ workforce and customers maximise the benefits of systems and technologies.

The Opportunity
This full time, Senior Executive Service position offers a fixed-term appointment of up to five (5) years and is based in Fremantle. Walyalup Koort is a great location close to the Fremantle Markets, various new cafes and eateries and a car park, as well as walking distance to the Fremantle train station and Bathers Beach.
