About Office of the Director General
The Office of the Director General team provides strategic portfolio coordination and communication of key strategic issues across the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport and between multiple Ministers’ offices. It supports the Director General by providing confidential, efficient and effective administrative executive support.
About the role
We are currently looking for two Executive Managers to provide high level coordination and support within the Office of the Director General (ODG). The roles will play a key part in managing priorities and enabling timely, accurate and well informed decision making.
The Executive Manager roles within the ODG cover a broad range of activities in support of the Director General. We are seeking two experienced applicants with each having responsibility for distinct functions, listed below:
In one Executive Manager role, your responsibilities will be to:
- Manage and prioritise the Director General’s calendar, ensuring appointments, meetings and commitments are scheduled efficiently and aligned with organisational priorities.
- Coordinate Director General’s travel arrangements and itineraries, including logistics, briefing materials and required documentation to support seamless attendance at events and meetings.
- Prepare, organise and track meeting requirements.
- Steer the coordination, delegation and quality review of meeting and event briefing papers for the Director General.
In another Executive Manager role, your responsibilities will be to:
- Coordinate and manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely preparation of documents for the Director General’s consideration.
- Gather, coordinate, collate and provide background information for the Director General to support informed decision making and planning.
- Engage and collaborate with officers across the department and liaise with internal and external stakeholders—including other government agencies and the public—to support effective communication and achieve required outcomes.
- Prepare, quality check and format briefing notes, letters, and executive documents, ensuring they meet standards and provide the information required to support effective decision making.
Successful candidates must be able to perform all duties listed above, as required, across both Executive Manager roles.
