About Us

Westport is a transformational program that offers a rare opportunity for progressive and impactful large-scale infrastructure planning. Part of the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure, the Westport Office is responsible for delivering a diverse program of works that will:

  • Scale up WA’s trade capabilities for the next century.
  • Enable larger, more efficient vessels that Fremantle Port cannot accommodate.
  • Increase the share of rail freight, reducing road congestion and emissions.
  • Include an innovative port design informed by Cockburn Sound marine environment science.
  • Enable the transformation of Fremantle Port into vibrant mixed-use communities.
  • Generate thousands of jobs during construction and operations.
  • Encourage growth within the Kwinana Industrial Area and Western Trade Coast.

Westport will be delivered by over eight major infrastructure projects, and a raft of non-infrastructure commercial, environmental, planning, reform and strategy implementation programs, all integrating to realise meaningful benefits for Australia and to deliver a legacy of innovation and improvement in infrastructure delivery in WA.

Why this role matters:

Westport are seeking a Benefits Analyst / Realisation Lead to play a pivotal role in one of Western Australia’s most transformative infrastructure programs. This is a rare chance to contribute to a once-in-a-century project that will redefine the State’s container trade network and unlock future economic prosperity. As part of the Westport Office, you’ll be working at the forefront of planning and delivery for a new port in Kwinana, supported by an integrated freight network and logistics hub.

In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of the Westport Benefit Realisation Management Plan, ensuring that the program’s ambitious goals translate into measurable outcomes. You’ll monitor progress, report on benefits, and influence change management across a complex, multi-disciplinary environment. Your work will directly shape how success is defined and achieved for a project that will deliver lasting economic, social, and environmental benefits for generations to come.

Your impact will be through:

  • Developing, maintaining, and reporting on the Westport Benefit Realisation Management Plan.
  • Defining frameworks for tracking and reporting project outcomes against benefit streams.
  • Collaborating across the program to identify and align reporting outcomes with overarching benefits.
  • Preparing monthly benefits reports, including identifying and flagging risks to benefit realisation.
  • Providing input into scope changes and assessing their impact on proposed benefits.
  • Working within governance arrangements to ensure robust project management and integration of benefits management.
  • Preparing high-quality reports, briefing notes, presentations, and progress updates for leadership teams.

What sets you apart:

  • Demonstrated project management experience within complex programs and/or infrastructure planning.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships and influence outcomes on sensitive issues.
  • Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills to identify problems and deliver practical solutions.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with experience preparing clear, concise reports and presentations for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively in a project environment and lead a team while maintaining focus on program objectives.
  • Understanding of the WA Strategic Asset Management Framework (desirable).

There is currently One (1) full time, fixed term appointment contract up to 30 June 2028 with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency available for immediate start.
