Help shape the future of the Western Australia Public Sector.

The Office of Digital Government is looking to establish a pool of Cyber Security professionals (Level 4 to 5) that will help protect the Government’s information assets through the coordination and delivery of cyber programmes and controls.  The pool will operate for a period of 24 months, and will be accessed by other Public Sector agencies, where fixed term and/or permanent appointments may be made. By applying for this pool, you agree for your application to be shared amongst multiple Public Sector agencies.

As Cyber Security experts, you will contribute to the implementation of whole of government cyber security strategies and activities. You will assist in cyber security initiatives developing technical projects that are strategic and complex in nature providing advice, support and effective consultation with key stakeholders.

We are seeking applicants with skills and specialities across the cyber security discipline, including any of the following:

  • Network monitoring, firewall/security device configuration, incident response, threat hunting
  • Government, Risk, and Compliance: Assessment of cyber and information security risk, implementation and/or monitoring of security frameworks
  • Knowledge of industry standard and good practice (for example, the Australian Signals Directorate Essential 8, ISO 27001 family, NIST Cyber Security Framework)
  • Assurance activities including gap analysis, audit/review, and vulnerability assessment
  • Security testing including vulnerability assessments
  • Knowledge of contemporary enterprise IT environments.
  • Knowledge of common cloud platforms and concepts (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Office 365).
  • Knowledge of the public sector and state government. 

Level 4 - Cyber Security Analyst

These roles will identify, coordinate and advise on the implementation of cyber security controls and respond to cyber security incidents in accordance with the established guidelines and procedures. 

Level 5 - Senior Cyber Security Analyst

These roles will contribute to the provision of cyber security strategies and activities within Government agencies and reviews and manages cyber security initiatives.   It also develops technical projects that are strategic and complex in nature providing advice, support and effective consultation with key stakeholders.
