About the opportunity:
In this key role you will be responsible for ensuring the Metropolitan region’s road, bridge and state-wide electrical assets are managed, maintained and enhanced to agreed standards and performance outcomes. As Director Metropolitan Operations you will lead the asset management lifecycle for complex, high value assets in a high-profile infrastructure management organisation. You will be responsible for leading and managing large, multidisciplinary asset management, project development/delivery and maintenance teams, to produce effective outcomes in line with Main Roads and its stakeholders needs.
To be successful in this role you need to demonstrate very high-levels of safety behaviour, personal integrity and self-awareness, while embracing Main Roads values to lead the workplace through large, complex contracts and the delivery of new road related infrastructure. You will need to demonstrate your capability to articulate operational requirements to other leaders so that strategic and key objectives are understood and achieved,while your technical expertise will give you the ability to influence outcomes and communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.
You will be an effective change manager in your ability to understand and consider stakeholders when devising work and your skillset in negotiation and facilitation will positively influence various teams across the organisation. Furthermore, you will demonstrate a proactive approach to seeking development and learning opportunities for both your own professional development, and that of your teams.
