The Data Unit is an interdisciplinary team tasked with improving how the public sector uses evidence to make better decisions and policy. We work with a broad range of agencies and tackle the State’s most complex social, health, environmental and economic issues. About the Role

We are seeking talented and motivated individuals who are passionate about improving outcomes for Western Australians.

This is a fast-paced, engaging and multifaceted job. You will collaborate with a range of stakeholders, contribute to the development and maintenance of PeopleWA — a tool for better research and policy design — and get involved with projects that shape decisions in government. Data or research skills are not required, we are looking for someone who is organised and happy to work with people.

As part of this role, you will:

  • work across government agencies to support researchers in accessing government data,
  • provide advice and assistance to researchers, Aboriginal community-controlled organisations, community service organisations and government agencies, and
  • dentify pain points and develop clear communications to resolve issues.

Permanent appointment:

  • To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia at the time of applying.
