The role

As an Inspector Scientific Officer within the human factors team in WorkSafe General Industries, you’ll play a vital role in improving health and safety standards across diverse industries by conducting workplace inspections, investigating incidents, and enforcing WHS legislation. With a focus on human factors, particularly psychosocial hazards, you’ll use your scientific expertise to identify risks, provide guidance, and contribute to policy and team development. This position offers the opportunity to build your professional knowledge, collaborate with key stakeholders, and support a culture of safety and continuous improvement – all while progressing your own career in a high-impact regulatory role. You will be supported by a team of Inspector Scientific Officers, comprehensive training and onboarding, and opportunities for professional development.

While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies (permanent, fixed-term, full-time or part-time) within the department for the next 12 months, from the date that the recruitment breach period has been finalised.
