The Community Policy Unit (CPU) is part of the Aboriginal Engagement and Community Policy division. We support the Premier and Cabinet to achieve their economic, social and wellbeing objectives by leading and coordinating cross government policy development and implementation advice on social policy matters.

About the Role

The Policy Officer undertakes quality research and analysis to support the development, coordination, implementation and review of Government policies and initiatives from a whole of government perspective. Furthermore, the position contributes to policy and governance reporting, support, and advice, and contributes to projects to deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes and outcomes.

We are seeking a critical thinker with a passion for research and analysis to identify social policy trends, establish interjurisdictional comparisons and collaborate across government. This role contributes to and supports the development of solutions and advice to enhance services for WA communities.

You will have the capability to:

  • manage competing priorities with a focus on achieving results;
  • communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a range of stakeholders; and
  • be adaptable and think flexibly to identify risks and opportunities.
