Applications for GradConnect
are open once per year. If you want to be
considered for a graduate position between July 2025 and June 2026,
you must submit your application by 19 March 2025. Late
submissions will not be accepted.
Applicants must:
- Be
registered as an enrolled nurse with the
Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) prior to
your employment commencement date.
- Be an
Australian or New Zealand citizen, or an Australian permanent
resident or temporary resident with a valid visa and
full-working rights for the duration of the graduate
program.
- Have
completed your nursing studies after 1 January
2024.
- Have
not previously participated in an enrolled
nursing graduate program.
Assessment of all applicants
will be based on
merit.

Position Details:
The Enrolled Nurse (EN)
practices within the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
(NMBA) professional standards which define the practice and
behaviour of nurses and midwives and include codes of conduct,
codes of ethics, guides to professional boundaries and standards
for practice.
As part of a
multidisciplinary team, the EN delivers quality evidence-based
nursing care to patients under the direction and supervision of a
Registered Nurse/Midwife (RN/MW). The EN promotes and contributes
to safe and high-quality patient care and works in collaboration
with colleagues and Registered Nurses/Senior Registered
Nurses/Nursing Directors.
The commencement
period for GradConnect is either July to December 2025 OR January
to June 2026. You will be asked to express which period
you would like to commence during your online
application.
Selection Criteria:
The following criteria are
to be read together with the Enrolled Nurse
GradConnect Jul 2025 – Jun 2026 Brief Summary of
Duties (attached), with consideration to the values
of your first preference health service provider.
If applying for a graduate
enrolled nurse program, you MUST provide a written response to
each of the selection criteria (1 and 2) below.
When answering the selection criteria questions please use nursing
examples from your clinical experiences to demonstrate your
knowledge wherever possible. (A 300-word limit applies to
each question).
- Demonstrated clinical
knowledge and experience in the delivery of evidence-based
nursing care within a clinical setting.
- Demonstrated effective
communication and conflict resolution skills within a clinical
setting.

Employment with WA Health is
subject to a number of pre-employment assessments. Successful
applicants are required to undergo and provide evidence for the
appropriate checks prior to commencing employment (fit to perform

Graduate positions
are fixed term with the possibility of extension/s and/or
permanency after completion of the Program.
