About the role
The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is seeking a talented and experienced rail freight professional with expertise in managing complex projects and ensuring regulatory compliance. This pivotal role offers a unique chance to influence and oversee a range of State Government funded railway projects and manage critical Rail Infrastructure Leases.
In this diverse and engaging position, you will be at the heart of managing and enhancing our rail freight infrastructure. Drawing on your specialist expertise, you should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically, solve problems innovatively, and manage tasks within set timeframes. This role will be integral to ensuring these dynamic programs run smoothly while maintaining robust relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Our ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and experience in operational rail freight environments, advanced project management skills, and the ability to manage lease agreements effectively. About You!
To excel in this role, you should possess relevant technical expertise, including:
- Extensive knowledge and experience in an operational rail freight environment.
- Highly developed project management skills ideally with experience in lease management including the ability to identify, control and report on variances to scope, budget and program in the context of railway infrastructure.
- Experience in managing an organizational rail access regime.
- Substantial experience in research and analysis, including high level ability to interpret and apply legislation and standards.

Currently a permanent full-time opportunity is available for an immediate start. Applicants assessed as suitable through this process may be used to fill similar vacancies both fixed term and permanent that may arise within the next 12 months.
