Join the Public Transport Authority (PTA) as we shape the future of rail! We are seeking innovative Principal and Mechanical Engineers to enhance our rollingstock engineering team. In the Principal Engineer role, you will provide specialist support, lead the team, and ensure the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of our rollingstock assets while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
As a Principal Engineer, you'll develop Asset Management Plans, manage multi-disciplinary projects, and coordinate with contractors to optimize performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Your leadership will be essential in driving innovations that enhance safety and reliability across our rail operations.
In the Mechanical Engineer position, you will oversee the acquisition, design, modification, and maintenance of rollingstock, manage outsourced contracts, and assist with fault diagnosis and compliance. Ideal candidates will have an engineering degree, experience in passenger rollingstock and rail safety, strong leadership skills, and proficiency in relevant engineering software. This is a pool recruitment process where suitable applicants will be placed in a pool for 12 months from which permanent or fixed term appointments with the possibility of further extension(s) and/or permanency will be made.
