The opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to join the Department of the Premier and Cabinet (DPC) as we deliver a brighter future for all Western Australians. By using our expertise in policy design and service delivery, we support the Premier and Ministers to tackle Government’s big challenges and lead a connected WA Government.
The 2025 Graduate program will commence in early February 2025.
As a Graduate Officer, you will get exposure to and have influence on a broad range of exciting projects including developing key policy solutions to whole-of-government issues and assisting in shaping high level advice to the Premier and Ministers and other business areas across our six divisions:
- Office of the Director General
- Intergovernmental Relations and Strategic Priorities
- Aboriginal Engagement and Community Policy
- Infrastructure, Economy and Recovery
- Office of Digital Government
- State Services
You will have the opportunity to rotate in three areas of the organisation during the 12-month program.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the 2025 DPC Graduate Development Program, applicants must:
- have successfully completed a degree between 1 June 2022 and 31 December 2024;
- be an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident at the time you lodge your application; and
- be available to commence full time work in early February 2025.

- Evidence of Australian citizenship or Australian permanent residency.
- A copy of your most recent academic transcript.
- A current CV (maximum 3 pages) outlining your work experience, achievements, extra-curricular involvements and/or leadership roles you have undertaken, including details of two (2) referees.
- A two-page written application telling us about:
- Why you want to work at DPC.
- Your skills and attributes that will be relevant to the role (including your analytical and research skills, communication and interpersonal skills, how you prioritise your work and meet deadlines as well as your experience working in a team environment). Be sure to use examples from your university, work, volunteering, internships, or personal experiences.
Suitable applicants will be required to provide:
- Proof of identity 100-point check (details will be advised after selection).
- A satisfactory National Police Certificate issued by the Western Australia Police.
